Homelessness. I have seen first hand and have helped homeless people. Its sad and upsetting that someone has to mengle around to find some kind of food to eat. I went on two mission trips that have delt with people that suffered from no food, no clothes or barely a place to sleep. Seeing homeless people is really tough it hurts to see people live like they are living out on the streets or not getting money. A lot of homeless people have psychological problems like schizophrenia or a diesease. When I saw these people first hand and tried to talk them it was tough to stay focused on what I was there to do, like help them and cook for them. We had a truck that was filled with toys, dishes, and appliances. When we would open the back of the truck to hand the people the items and stuff it was tough for them not to fight with each other. We would have to quit for a little while so they would all settle down. I guess, when you dont have anything and your wanting toys or something for your kids its tough to just act calm or polite. We had a lot of girls that were with us from my church and they would get so hurt from seeing the kids in old shirts and shorts, with no shoes or anything. They would have to go of and have some alone time to think about it all. We helped those people out alot and I am very glad I went on that mission trip because I learned so much from those people and mainly the kids. The expierence taught me not to be so greedy or materialistic because they werent at all they would be happy with a new shirt or even some socks.
